Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu: Two Rathas in the group of five temples that is located near to the south part of the town beach. These temples are monolithic structures carved in the shape of chariots. Here the smaller Draupadi Ratha on the left, with the view of the profile of the giant sculpture of a sitting lion in front of it, and the larger, differently structured and more decorated Arjuna Ratha on the right. There is the statue of a resting bull among them, in the background, too. This is the enlargement of part of the scan of a slide taken in July-August, 1996.
