Giannutri is an island near the promontory of Argentario, in the province of Grosseto, in Toscana. It is known as the “island of seagulls” in Italy. Giannutri is an island near the promontory of Argentario, in the province of Grosseto, in Toscana. It is known as the “island of seagulls” in Italy. From this point of view, each year, unfortunately, it is possible to notice a small natural drama, too, since not all the new generation seagulls are able to follow the adults when they leave. This young seagull appears still in good conditions, though tired, therefore one can perhaps hope in a happy end. The photo is taken in a small cove of a large, typical, rocky bay. The bird is in foreground, and it is just at the border of water, that appears turquoise in the background. It was a sunny day in the middle of the summer.
